Being the youngest of the Miller brothers never stopped Vyshonne Miller aka Silkk The Shocker from shining. Since the early 90's, Silk has been making his way up the hip hop ladder of success. His eldest brother, Master P (Percy Miller) is a household name, older brother, C-Murder (Corey Miller) is doing life in prison and Kevin Miller was killed by someone he called a friend. Even with all the press his brothers generate, Silkk has never been cast as a shadow or a puppet. He has held his own and still is. The only difference now is that he is no longer a 14 year old little boy blowing his fortune on anything he thought was cool. Today, the 25 year-old New Orleans native is confirming the successful career he started a decade ago. The Ave sat down with Silkk at Koch Records in Manhattan to find out about his new album, his new film company and how it is to be in a family with two other famous emcees (Master P and Lil' Romeo).

The Ave: So how you doing Silkk?

Silkk The Shocker: I'm fine, I'm fine how are you?

The Ave: So what does it feel like to know that 7 million of your albums have been sold? 7 million is a large number!

Silkk The Shocker: It feels good. It feels real good.

The Ave: You're the youngest out of the Miller brother's right?

Silkk The Shocker: Yeah.

The Ave: So what do you think being in the Miller family has done for your career?

Silkk The Shocker: Well I think I was able to learn from their mistakes. Learn from the good things and the bad things so with them setting the groundwork I was able to come in behind them and capitalize on it.

The Ave: Do you think nepotism came into play?

Silkk The Shocker: Yea definitely I could agree with that. It definitely helped. That's the groundwork.
